The backside consists of three major muscles… the glute maximus, glute medius, and glute minimus.
This group of muscles are responsible for stabilising your pelvis, pulling the thigh behind you, moving your hip outwards (lateral movement) and internally and externally rotating your hip. In summary they are extremely important for day to day movement and posture but they are more often weak and under-utilised.
Unfortunately for most of us we spend our day sitting on our backside and what we don’t realise is the negative’.
