for 24-year-old education content writer Lara Moyles, the biggest drawcard of veganism was its ethos. As a child she’d dreamed of being a marine biologist and had been considering adopting a more environmentally friendly diet for a while. ‘I looked into animal slaughtering and came to realise that meat production isn’t the most humane industry,’ she says. ‘Plus the meat industry produces so much waste and so many harmful substances.’
During her time at university, Lara had succumbed to the dreaded first-year spread.
