The Write Girls originally connected at The International Women’s Club (IWC), established more than 40 years ago as a meeting place for the wives of international diplomats and businessmen. It was primarily a friendship club for women new to Cape Town, explains Write Girls member and former IWC president Carole Armstrong-Hooper. Members host activities for one another; it was at one of these that the group came together.
