The market town of Hexham, in Northumberland, has been crowned the happiest place to live in Britain by Rightmove. It beat Harrogate and Richmond-upon-Thames (second and third respectively) after people were asked to rate where they live. Questions included how safe they feel, whether they earn enough to be comfortable and whether their neighbours are friendly.
