KNIVES REGENERATED

Several years ago Rolf Hettinger of the Fire Department of the City of New York (E50 Ladder, 19BC26L) contacted me about a special fundraising project. Rolf proposed I capitalize on my extensive experience forging blades to produce a limited run of knives made from iron remnants of the World Trade Center buildings destroyed by terrorists on 9/11. I jumped at the opportunity to be part of such a prestigious and meaningful project. Rolf shipped several rusty, mangled pieces of steel to me and the work began.
