TEN YEARS AGO, Adam Scheps was scrolling through the internet looking at Ford performance cars for sale. A resident of Orange, Connecticut, Adam’s search had stemmed from a desire to bond with his son, Sam, in a hobby they could both enjoy. Adam had already been collecting Blue Oval muscle for nearly 30 years — including a series of Shelby Mustangs, a factory lightweight or two, an altered-wheelbase Mustang drag racer, and a 1969 428CJ ’Stang, to name a few — and Sam had been expressing an interest in the collector car hobby. For Adam, it was a potential win-win opportunity that couldn’t be passed up.
