▪ The annual Windham-Campbell Prize for writers has been announced. In the drama category, Young Jean Lee and Australian playwright Patricia Cornelius were recognized. Each writer received $165,000.

▪ The Whiting Foundation has announced the 10 winners of the 2019 Whiting Awards, held on March 20 at the New York Historical Society in New York City. The winners spanned the literary and theatre worlds. The winners in the drama and . Each received a cash prize of $50,000.
