Ready-to-plant lower quadrant signals

TWO new ready-to-plant GWR lower quadrant signals, with a new design of control module, have been released by Dapol in recent weeks, including a 20ft 'wooden' square post ‘Home’ signal in ‘O’ gauge (7L-001-001) and a 25ft tall right-hand junction signal in ‘OO’ gauge (4L-001-005), also featuring a 'wooden' post.

D&E modellers interested in BR (WR) operations may find them of use on layout themes up to the 1970s at the latest. Today, wooden square post signals of this design are extinct on the rail network. They were progressively replaced by tubular post designs by the GWR from around 1940 and BR which remain in use at a small number of locations today.

The models will suit a transition-era BR Western Region and possible Midland
