TOM HINGLEY AND THE KAR-PETS: May Contain Nuts – DVD and CD 2-Disc Set

When is a tribute band not a tribute band? Now, here’s athing. Way back baggy when, I loved the Inspiral Carpets and oft was seen at their live gigs. Fast forward through trials, tribulations and suchlike and the songwriter, icon and one-of-a-kind eccentric Inspiral Carpets frontman Tom Hingley, still gigs with a different back-up. But the song remains the same…ish. The Kar-Pets. To get a good grip of what I mean, get an eyeful and lug-hole full of their live DVD and CD.

Recorded at a sold-out show, it’s Tom’s new take on their back catalogue, with pumped-up performances of classic tracks such as Saturn 5, Bitches Brew and Find Out Why, to name a few. The Kar-Pets are a self-admitted tribute band. However, they’re fronted by Tom, the lead singer for their successful period. He joined for the band’s sensational Life album, which featured their anthem This is How it Feels.
