CHICAGO - The Bears will be guilty of quarterback negligence if they don't send someone to Atlanta for Colin Kaepernick's free-agent workout Saturday.
The team, with starter Mitch Trubisky and veteran backup Chase Daniel combined, ranks 30th in the NFL in passing yards per game at 181.7 and tied for 30th in yards per attempt at 5.0. At this point, anything short of due diligence for a position that has largely been filled by boogeymen since Sid Luckman's retirement in 1950 would be reprehensible. Of course, history has proved that when there are two choices to make at the position, or even three, the Bears most often make the wrong one.
