SUPER SEEDS FOR 2020!

There are lots of new veg seed varieties to whet your appetite for growing this year and what follows can only be a selection. In truth, we’d probably like to grow them all but space and time would never allow that. Hopefully, there’s plenty in here that will be of interest! So let’s get started…

COOL KOHL RABI

It’s maybe not the first thing you choose when deciding what to grow each year but if you do, there’s plenty of kohl rabi on offer, great in stir-fries, soups and coleslaw. Dobies has ‘Dyna’, a very attractive variety with vibrant purple ‘bulbs’ and green stalked leaves. In contrast, Suttons has added ‘Noriko’ to its organic veg collection (produced without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides). This kohl rabi is white with a globe shape and offers resistance to both bolting and splitting.
