Read Robert Mueller’s Opening Statement to Congress

How the special counsel kicked off his long-awaited testimony on Capitol Hill

After staying silent following his appointment as special counsel in 2017, Robert Mueller made his first public comments on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election just less than two months ago. Now, even though his tenure as special counsel has officially ended, Mueller begrudgingly finds himself compelled to speak yet again, thanks to a congressional subpoena calling him to testify today before the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committees.
