GROW SQUASHES TO STORE

The squashes you can store for several months are the winter squashes. Unlike summer squashes, such as courgette and patty pan, the winter squash will develop a hard skin which allows them to be stored for longer. They are fairly easy to grow and are harvested in autumn. Examples include pumpkin, butternut, hubbard, spaghetti, acorn and red kuri.

It is best to start off squash seed with some warmth in April. This gives them a head start as they need
