A brief chat with... Allan Hitchcock

There cannot be many Royal Enfield enthusiasts in the world who haven’t heard of Hitchcocks Motorcycles in Solihull and it is likely many have bought a thing or two from them. But Allan is not from a motorcycling family – in fact, given his father Raymond’s cricketing background (Warwickshire and New Zealand) it is quite surprising Hitchcock the younger took to motorcycles. “Top Trumps cards have to take the blame for that,” he says, “I had all sorts of them and the motorcycle ones sparked my interest.”

The classic scene was in full swing and connected to a marque which not only had a truly classic history, but thanks to a deal struck in the 1950s
