WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court agreed Friday to decide whether North Carolina's election map is an example of unconstitutional partisan gerrymandering or a legal effort by the state's Republican leaders to lock in a 10-to-3 advantage in its congressional delegation.
The court will also decide whether Maryland Democrats violated the Constitution by redistricting tens of thousands of voters to turn a safe Republican district into a reliably Democratic one.
