CHICAGO - Mary Miller lived in Illinois for all of her 44 years until July, when she and her family left their north suburban Wauconda home to resettle in Florida.
"It's taxes. It's corruption. It's politics," she said. "And I don't mean Republicans or Democrats, it's all of them."
Miller wasn't alone in her departure from the state. Illinois has declined in population for the fifth year in a row, losing an estimated 45,116 residents from 2017 to 2018, according to the latest Census
