Painting has always been Ekaterina Mortensen’s first love. She grew up in Soviet Russia, and even though she showed great talent and passion for art, she was pressed to pursue studies and a job in computer engineering. “I was encouraged to follow a more serious career by my family, but I still believe that I have inherited some of my artistic talent from them,” she says. “Many members of my family were talented painters and draughtsmen, albeit doing it only as a hobby.” Their love of the arts was also passed onto her through their collection of art
