CLASS 40 EYEWITNESS
I WAS most interested to see your article about the 1970 accident between two Class 40s on the Granton branch in Edinburgh (page 30 May issue), because I was on the scene of the crash hours after it had happened.
I was 12 years old at the time, and when I came home from school that day I saw the headline on my dad’s Evening News about the accident, so I headed off with some friends to find the scene.
