HONDA CB500X WAS MISSING IN ACTION

I was surprised that your ‘Shopping for Adventure’ article in the March issue didn’t include the Honda CB500X.

This bike provides a great option for those wanting to downsize a bit without losing too much performance by going to the latest range of small 250-300cc bikes, and yet it is still suitable for newer riders on an A2 licence.

Like most adventure bikes it is a road bike, which can tackle a bit of green-laning, but it also has the capability of being upgraded to make it a really good off-roader, particularly with the Rally Raid range of custom parts.

I suspect that being 500cc puts it in between the new range of small bikes and the usual 650cc mid-range bikes, but it is definitely one which should be seriously considered by riders looking for a lightweight adventure bike.
