It takes a village
Websites brimming with stunning images of beautifully styled homes, each supported by a detailed floor plan, are useful, but nothing compares to exploring a house first-hand. That’s where display villages come in. There really isn’t any substitute for having a good nose around a house. You can experience the flow of the floor plan, see how much natural light the home allows in, imagine how it will be cooking in the kitchen or barbecuing in the alfresco, and get a true sense of the quality of the finishes and appliances.
Display villages are by no means a new concept but they are certainly growing in number and sophistication. The calibre and diversity of homes is increasing and the on-site facilities are ever-improving. We asked three home building experts to share their tips for preparing for a visit to a display village and how to maximise your time there.
