Materials
❖ 2.1m (2⅜yd) solid pale-tan fabric (centre block and Borders 2 and 5)
❖ 1.85m (2yd) brown mini-check print fabric (Borders 4 and 7)
❖ 1.3m (1½yd) teal stripe print fabric (Borders 1, 3, 5, 6 and binding)
❖ 40cm (½yd) each of light-teal and medium-teal print fabrics (centre block, and Borders 2 and 4)
❖ 60cm (¾yd) dark-teal print fabric (centre block and Borders 2 and 4)
❖ 40cm (½yd) each of three medium-dark-brown print fabrics (centre block and Borders 2 and 4)
❖ 60cm (¾yd) medium brown print fabric (centre block and Border 4)
❖ 15cm (¼yd) each of 10 assorted teal and brown print fabrics (centre block and hexagon flowers)
❖ 20cm (½yd) teal and brown stripe print fabric (fussy cut diamonds in Border 2 and hexagon flowers)
❖ 6mm (¼in) bias-tape maker
❖ Eppiflex reusable English paper piecing templates or template plastic, light cardboard and permanent-marking pen to make your own — see Note
❖ Water-soluble fabric-basting glue
❖ Fine thread in a neutral colour
❖ Fine mechanical pencil
❖ Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
❖ Sewing machine
❖ General sewing supplies

Cutting
From the solid pale-tan fabric, cut:
❖ one square, 16½in (background for Centre block)
❖ two strips, 4½in down the length of the remaining fabric. These will be approximately 60in in length. Cross cut these strips to yield four strips, 4½in x 26in (background for Border 2)
❖ four strips, 7in down the length of the remaining fabric, these will also be approximately 60in in length
