♦ 80cm (⅞yd) solid black fabric

♦ 2.2m (2½yd) solid white fabric

♦ 33 fat eighths of bright tone-on-tone print fabrics

♦ Five fat quarters of white or light grey tone-on-tone print fabrics

♦ Five fat quarters of black or dark grey tone-on-tone print fabrics

♦ 70cm (¾yd) black and white stripe print fabric (binding)

♦ 2.25m (2½yd) extra wide (275cm/108in) backing fabric

♦ Batting at least 220cm (88in) square

♦ Precut papers and templates — see note below

♦ Water-soluble fabric-basting glue; Sharon used a Sewline glue pen

♦ Size 11 milliners/straw needle

♦ Fine thread in a neutral colour; Sharon used Superior Thread Bottom Line thread

♦ Water-erasable fabric-marking pen

♦ Rotary cutter, ruler
