♦ Assorted blue print fabrics ranging from dark to light. Each block uses three different prints: as a guide you need a 5in square of one, a 5in x 10in rectangle of another, and a fat eighth of the third fabric
♦ 80cm (⅞yd) cream shirting print fabric
♦ 30cm (⅜yd) red tone-on-tone print fabric
♦ 1.6m (1¾yd) blue spot print fabric (setting triangles, border and binding)
♦ 3m (3¼yd) backing fabric
♦ Batting at least 145cm (56in) square
♦ Cherry Pie Designs’ Fire and Ice acrylic template set (see Note) or template plastic to make your own
♦ Fine-point permanent-marking pen
♦ Hand sewing needle — no. 11 milliners or no. 9 quilting between
♦ Sandpaper board (optional)
♦ Fine thread in a neutral colour
♦ Rotary cutter, ruler
