TRIPLE TREAT

YAMAHA has unveiled two new retro models based on the MT-09 triple and MT-07 twin as part of their ‘Hipstar' range which also includes the C-Spec Bolt V-twin (Retrobike #20), the XJR1300 four and the SR400 single. The XSR900 and XSR700 look similar but are wildly different bikes to ride; the former is seriously quick, the latter less so but much more soulful.

Both models hark back to the 1970s, before the days of market
