The subtropical summers and temperate winters of the Coffs Harbour region are certainly conducive to food growing, so it’s no surprise that anyone in that area would grow fruit and vegies. What is surprising about Coffs local Steve McGrane’s garden is how many food plants he has packed into a 650sqm block, which includes a decent-sized house.
But then Steve is a horticulturist as well as an educator, ecological agriculture consultant, presenter, writer, broadcaster, part-time nursery employee and gardening consultant. With all that, it’s a wonder he has time for the garden at all, let alone creating and maintaining what feels
