    MATERIALS

    • Large number of assorted fabric scraps for 295 hexagons – see Note
    • 55cm ( 5/8yd) fine multicoloured striped fabric (border)
    • 35cm ( 3/8yd) pink print fabric (binding)
    • 90cm (1yd) backing fabric – see Marilyn’s Backing Tip
    • Batting at least 90cm (36in) square
    • Packet of 300 7/8in hexagon papers or template plastic and stiff paper to make your own
    • Fabric glue (optional)
    • Mechanical pencil
    • Water-erasable fabric-marking pen
    • Perlé 8 thread in pink, blue and aqua (hand quilting)
    • Big eye quilting needles
    • Sewing machine with 1/4in and walking feet
    • Rotary cutter, ruler and mat
    • General sewing supplies

    Finished size: 80 x 79cm (31 1/2 x 31in)
