Anthony Bourdain, world-traveling chef and TV star, dies at 61 in apparent suicide
Anthony Bourdain, a celebrity chef, author and TV host who traveled the world to explore the nexus of food and culture, died Friday in an apparent suicide, according to CNN. He was 61.
"It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdain," CNN said in a statement. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller."
Bourdain transformed his popularity as a best-selling author and celebrity chef into TV stardom through his programs on the Travel Channel and then on CNN, where his travel series "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown" has been one of the network's most popular
