The double-edged sword of sexual violence in the LGBTQ community

Harvey Weinstein. Woody Allen. Lars von Trier. And, now, Kevin Spacey. In the film world, the phrase "patriarchal trash" is getting some seriously good mileage.

And, as a loudmouthed, queer feminist, I fully endorse its usage to describe powerful men with alleged histories of sexual violence. I also think it should describe the complicit bystanders who protect predation.

It's often too easy for folks like me to throw some hefty stones.
