FRESNO, Calif. - If Fresno Republicans were looking for political red meat, former Arizona lawman Joe Arpaio did not disappoint when he joined them Friday evening for a fundraiser.
Arpaio lionized President Donald Trump, defended his own honor and questioned once more whether former President Barack Obama was truly an American citizen.
As he addressed reporters, several hundred protesters and a much smaller number of counter-demonstrators gathered in the streets outside.
