Reeling from a weekend sweep by the Brewers and seeing their NL Central lead sliced to two games, the Cubs meet the beleaguered Mets on Tuesday night at Wrigley Field.
It's a good opportunity to snap out of their offensive malaise, facing a decimated pitching staff and a team playing out the string in the NL East, which the Nationals clinched Sunday.
This isn't the same Mets team that was supposed to compete for a spot in the postseason. Gone
