About this series
This ten-session course broadens vocabulary for 8th graders in multiple ways including definitions of words, usage in context, stories, quiz questions and pairing of words with similar ones. This is an ideal way to foster vocabulary development. Vocabulary included in this 8th grade course includes terms such as juxtapose, velocity, technical, surmise, validate, abhor and many others. 8th grade is a target level for this course, but depending on a child's vocabulary development it may be useful for other or younger children. This course is part of a progressive series that enables progressive vocabulary learning from course to course. Sessions start by introducing new vocabulary and later in the course words are examined in different ways and understanding of the vocabulary is tested.

This 10 session vocabulary course offers a way for 5th graders to broaden their vocabulary learning, or gaining a deeper understanding of, the meaning and usage of words such as: dedicate, withdraw, enact, pasture, garment and many others. As a 5th grade course the primary age target is 10-11 year olds. However, younger and older children may benefit from the course depending on their level of vocabulary development since there is some variance in each child's language development compared to what might be considered 'average' for a given grade level. This course is past of a series you can pick the grade level that is appropriate for them, and progress to the next course in the series, regardless of their actual grade, once they have mastered the vocabulary contained in this course. Vocabulary is learned in multiple ways to keep the course interesting including definition explanations, similar words, quiz questions, using words in a sentence, exploring word origins and telling stories to show words in context. In this multi-faceted approach to vocabulary acquisition your child will build a fuller understanding of language in context and be exposed to the words taught at multiple points throughout the course aiding retention.

This is a vocabulary learning course targeted at a 6th grade level. Examples of the words included in this course are arid, thesis, hazardous, verdict, nationality and ratio. Words are examined in multiple ways to reinforce learning, since you need to be exposed to words 10-20 times in different contexts in order to understand new vocabulary and then use it appropriately. For example, words are used with their definitions as you might expect, but then word origins, sentence usage, similar words and other activities are used to help word learning. This is an ideal way to broaden your child's vocabulary in an interesting and stimulating way. Of course, the target 6th grade level is a broad estimate and most children between 5th and 8th grades should be able to improve their vocabulary to some degree with this course. It is also part of a series with a specific audiobook for each grade level.

This course will expand a 7th grader's vocabulary by introducing new words in multiple ways, through explaining word definitions, using words in sentences, providing new words alongside words with similar meaning, telling stories involving the words and other games and activities to support vocabulary development. This repeated exposure to vocabulary in different contexts enables deeper comprehension of the meaning of vocabulary so that it can be applied appropriately in written and verbal communication and comprehension. The course is divided into 10 separate sessions initially sharing new vocabulary and then reviewing prior vocabulary to aid comprehension and recall as the course progresses. This is an ideal way to broaden your 7th grader's vocabulary (target age: 12-13 years old) different children may be above or below this level given natural variation in vocabulary learning by age, but virtually all 7th graders will be able to acquire new vocabulary from this creative and engaging course. Some examples of words included in this course are: wince, unscathed, belligerent, gratify, abdicate and of course many others. Vocabulary expansion is such an important part of language acquisition and development and this course can provide a boost in this important area.
