A Guide to Adipo Sidang's Parliament of Owls Series
()
About this series
This book teaches readers, especially students of drama in high school and colleges, how to respond to questions. This is because, often, students do not fail because they do not know; poor performance results from inability to interpret questions appropriately and therefore, poor response to them. This book approaches this problem in a number of ways. First, it teaches the reader how to interpret question words, giving enough questions to show how this should be done. Then, it shows the reader how to organize essays, begining with an understanding of what essays are and what examiners expect from them. It examines paragraphing, essay organization - including introduction and conclusion - then examines timing according to the number of words or length of essay expected and the time allowed for the paper and therefore, each questions. Finally, it examines terms used in literature with a bias to drama which allows the reader to understand what critics and examiners mean by them. It gives abundant examples drawn from Parliament of Owls. Although this book uses the KENYA CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EXAMINATION, through which high school students matriculate into college, the explanations given allow for all students across the world to be able to adapt these skills to their own exam situations.

- Adipo Sidang Parliament of Owls: Plot Analysis and Characters: A Guide to Adipo Sidang's Parliament of Owls, #1
1
This book examines the plot and the characters of Adipo Sidang's play Parliament of Owls. It is a crucial study in modern African drama and a complimentary to comedic and satirical political allegories of the rest of the world. It is especially complimentary to the likes of George Orwel;s Animal Farm, and therefore, crucial to the study of comparative literature. This critical book analyzes the plot and the characters in a peculiar way which helps learners and teachers of literature to grow confidence in personal analysis. To do this, this critical book introduces a series of questions which help the reader of the play to turn the bare facts of the play into elements of literature, the elements which other critics and examiners look for and talkl about. Once learnt, these skills can easily be applied to any other play and indeed to other genres of literature.
- Adipo Sidang's Parliament of Owls: Themes and Elements of Style: A Guide to Adipo Sidang's Parliament of Owls, #2
2
This book should be read as a sequel to book 1 in the series. While book 1 examines the plot and the characters, this second book follows with themes and elements of style in Adipo Sidang's play, Parliament of Owls. The book not only discusses the themes of the play but also ensures that the reader understabds what a theme is. This should allow the reader to transfer this knowledge to other books and genres of literature. The book also discusses the elemenets of style, giving suggestions that show the reader how they are arrived at. This should make it possible for the reader to see a lot more in the play, allowing for a comprehensive study of the play.
