Sequoia: Stud Farm

She's a princess locked away in a wooden tower.  Twyla Grace should love her life. She has a nice house, a wealthy father, and just graduated from college. What more could a girl want? For Twyla, the answer has always been Seth. He's always wanted to be her white knight.  When Seth Avery first met Twyla, he instantly knew two things. One, she was the one for him, and two, she was also way too good for him. When she left, he let her go. He thought that college was what she wanted, and he just wanted her to be happy. Do the Princess and the Pauper only get their happily ever after in fairy tales?  Now that she's back in Sequoia though, will Seth be able to let her go again?

Can a bet only have one winner?  You'd think that a college town would have a lot of job opportunities but that's not the case in Sequoia. I've already exhausted all of the businesses in town but no one is hiring. No one but the Stud Farm. When I go out the night before my interview with some friends hoping to blow off some steam and celebrate summer break it was just meant to be fun. Instead, I end the night by slapping Griz Ford. I didn't know that it was him, I swear. I figured that out the next day when I showed up for my interview at the Stud Farm and found him grinning at me across the kitchen table. I figure there's no way that I'm getting this job, but he surprises me and we end up making a bet. 30 days. I work for him, cooking for him and cleaning his house. In that time, he'll try to get me to fall for him. All I have to do to win enough money to cover my costs for the next school year is resist him. Piece of cake, right?

I have a secret.  I'm Kentucky Derby royalty and I am absolutely terrified of horses. It started after I was bucked off as a teen. I was injured and when I left the hospital and went back home to my dad's ranch, I refused to go anywhere near the barns or animals. Now that his health is deteriorating though, I know that it's time for me to face my fears so that I can take over for him. So, I book myself a private session at a dude ranch where no one has heard of me. I figure it's time to get back to the basics. What I don't count on is my intense attraction for my instructor. Wyatt Ford is the hottest cowboy that I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of them. He's kind and has a real way with the horses. As the month progresses, he helps me face my fears but when the thirty days are over, I find that I have a new fear. Living without my patient cowboy.

It started as a favor.  I would do anything for my best friend so when she calls me up because her brother needs a date for a wedding, I say yes, even though I know that it's a terrible idea. See, the thing is that I've been in love with Clara's brother, Kai, for my entire life. I know that I can't have him though. Not only is he older than me, but I would never do anything to jeopardize my friendship with Clara. Then the wedding gets canceled, which wouldn't be a big deal if Kai and I hadn't already gotten off the last ferry of the day. Now the two of us are stranded on an island just off the California coast with no cell service and no way home. Not until tomorrow morning anyway. I haven't given into my feelings for Kai for years. I can make it another twenty-four hours, right?

Forget Prince Charming. I want my hero in plaid.  I've always loved Beauty and the Beast. Maybe that's why I'm so drawn to my new boss, Remington. He has the scars left over from a bad rodeo accident and the same bear with a thorn in his paw attitude. As I clean his home and help him out around the house, my attraction for him only grows. Sure, he answers most questions in grunts or disgruntled looks, but something about that calls to me. We both finally give into our attraction one hot summer night and then I'm headed back to Sequoia University for my last year of college. I can't stop thinking about my scarred hero though. Not every romance is a fairy tale but I'm determined to make what I have with Remington mine. Now I just need to get him on the same page.
