About this series
Empathy, intuitions, dreams, visions – extraordinary ways to perceive reality. They stretch human awareness beyond what our five senses and data-gathering machines can detect, defying the established criteria of evidence-based knowledge. Are these perceptions reliable? If so, how can we learn to interpret these different ways of knowing? And if we manage to do so accurately, will others believe us?
Promise Holmes-Thomas, daughter to Peter Holmes and Brittany Thomas, must contend with these very experiences and questions in Prometheus Returns. The challenges, inspirations, and hard-earned wisdom garnered by her parents in Chiron's Light and In and Out of Time can only guide her so far. In the third book of this trilogy, Promise must discern for herself the meaning of the past, its impact on her present, and her hopes for a new, more highly evolved future. Unresolved issues resurface and demand their healing. Her parents' former solutions cannot substitute for her own journey.
Promise must come to know her deeper Self. She must make her own choices for how to understand the meaning and purpose of her life. Will she have the courage to do this work? Who or what will come to her aid? Where will this journey take her? Dare she face her true destiny?
Prometheus Returns invites the reader once again to consider the breadth and depth of healing available to the human soul. With Chiron's Light and In and Out of Time, this story swirls in the fluidity of time and space, incorporating ancient myths and shamanic journeys to explore more expansive realms of consciousness. Love, laughter, conflict, and drama fill these pages to offer a greater vision of possibility, wholeness, and healing for all.

Human vulnerability—an experience that few wish to face but none can avoid. When encountered, the deeper questions involve how we will react and, ultimately, how we will respond. For the soulfully-driven individual, there are choices to make. The ancients addressed such questions and choices through myth. For the Greeks, the story of Chiron embraced the concept of the Wounded Healer. His tale continues to offer guidance in our current times, as told in the story of Chiron's Light. St. Raphael's Hospital, an inner-city health center for thousands of local residents, must tackle its serious financial dilemma: how to restore fiscal viability in a world of increasing health demands and expensive technological treatments. Its staff—particularly its hospice coordinator, Tara Lakelyn, and a newly hired internist, Alex Haskins—find themselves caught in the throes of their hospital's slow but certain death. The administrators of St. Raphael's have contracted with Peter Holmes, a financial consultant, hoping that his fresh perspective will offer new solutions. As the threads of their individual journeys interweave, they each discover a shared history, find love and healing on many levels, and envision a future of bright possibilities. How will St. Raphael's administration respond? Chiron's Light bridges time and place as it both entertains the reader and invites deep reflection. Issues relating to how we live and how we die, how we love and how we heal, are addressed in very real human ways that elicit laughter, tears, insight, and wonder. If we but pause to notice, Chiron's light shines for us all.
- In and Out of Time: The Healing Light Series, #2

The passage of time – impersonal, unrelenting, and insistent upon its trajectory from past into present on to future. Our day-to-day awareness is immersed in this notion of time…but what of surprises? What of eternity? What if we have access to a consciousness that extends beyond time and space? What if that consciousness brings healing? In and Out of Time continues the story of Peter Holmes, a financial consultant, and Brittany Thomas, an intern completing her master's degree in social work. In Chiron's Light they labored together to provide an innovative recommendation to St. Raphael's Hospital's board of directors. After that month-long process, supported by contributions from hospice coordinator Tara Lakelyn and internist Alex Haskins, Peter proposed a complementary healing program to address the inner-city health center's impending financial crisis and its community's longer-term needs. In this sequel to Chiron's Light, Peter and Brittany's relationship deepens while Peter also strives to make his proposed complementary healing program a reality. Together with Tara and Alex, they face the numerous challenges – personal, social, legal, and financial – that arise when a new paradigm struggles to stake its claim amidst an entrenched vision of illness and healing. Mark Roland, a newly hired surgeon at St. Raphael's, stirs additional conflicts that seriously test the character, courage, and commitment of those who must engage with him. Old wounds surface; their healing depends upon a new understanding of time. Tackling these difficulties jeopardizes Peter and Brittany's personal relationship as well as the future of the complementary healing program. Only by plummeting the depths of their hearts and souls can they find the answers they seek. Will they discover what they need to know in time? Will they run out of time? Will they need to shift their consciousness in and out of time? With humor, poignancy, and attention to the soulful aspects of what it means to be human, In and Out of Time welcomes the reader to reflect on the nature of conflict, the value of peace, and the factors that might bridge a meaningful path between them. It challenges our notion of linear time with derailing surprises in the context of eternity, all the while inviting a greater awareness of love and our power to choose.
