Harper L. Woods
Harper L. Woods is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling fantasy romance alter ego for Adelaide Forrest. Raised in small-town Vermont, her passion for reading was born during long winters spent with her face buried between the pages of a book. She began to pass the time by writing short stories that quickly turned into full-length fiction. Since that time, she has published over 15 books and has plans for many more. When she isn't writing, Harper can be found spending time with her two young kids, curled up with her dog, dreaming about travel to distant lands, or designing book covers she'll never have enough time to use.

There wasn’t enough magic to keep me going, a lot of spice talk but no real action ? I honestly got bored and didn’t feel there was much to the story especially the background history! Felt there should have been another first book explaining how this book came about ??♀️ Will not be reading anymore books by this Author ? - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

The middle of the story I was confused as to what was happening. It wasn’t a smooth transition to next scene. I like the story line, don’t love that main character is underage. I am definitely not jumping to book 2 right away. Only listened to the whole thing because I paid for subscription. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

The story itself is okay. The writing is really bad, with painfully repetitive phrases throughout. Sometimes line after line using the same few words for comparisons, etc. I probably wouldn’t have minded the writing as much if the female narrator wasn’t so AWFUL. I was so distracted by her attempt to over-dramatize every single sentence that I struggled to even finish the book. I can usually get past annoying narrators, but this chick is really REALLY bad. Second hand embarrassment big time. I highly recommend catching this on kindle unlimited rather than purchasing if you must read it. Skip the audio and spare yourself. Ps check the trigger warnings. Dubious consent/SA throughout. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

Age gap (16 year old virgin + thousands(?) of years old, student-teacher, enemies to lovers (but mainly enemies), vampire + witch bond, ends on a cliff hanger.
?️ score 2/5 but a lot of sexual talk
Really great start but very rushed ending. Personally not into all of the obsession with a minor and virgin trope. Emphasis on youth for no reason.
But the plot held out some promise and I did like the MFC and MMC banter. MFC makes a lot of dumb unthought out choices but she’s literally a child so yeah. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I liked the story, the narration was a little tough though. The female narrator said things like “din-int” (instead of didn’t) and once I noticed it, I couldn’t ignore it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Intense! Some moments I gasped, others I wanted to cry. Harper L Woods books are nothing short of amazing, but The Coven and The Cursed are perfection. It is the perfect mix of gothic fantasy, dark academia, enemies to lovers, and witches versus demons read. The epilogue leaves with an open ended promise that there will be more and I cant wait to hear more about Margot and Beelzebub!!! Definitely a book to be read for the fall/halloween season. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5
