- Long Trips To Nowhere: Quick Quotes, Deeper Thoughts, and Imperfect Poetry
Daily Thought Provokers. Your true life you may never discover if you hide on your bed, under a cover. Each section is about 300 words. Each daily section of Long Trips To Nowhere starts with a quote, usually short. Next is a paragraph or three of deeper thoughts inviting cogitation. Finally a quick poem is added, usually meant to tie the pieces together. Of course I'm not much in favor of always following rules, so you will find variations. One section a day will get you through this book in a month -- quotes, deep thoughts, poetry and all. LTTN is your particular challenge. Some entries may intrigue, some anger, some cause nods of agreement, and others will bring laughter. All will provoke thought and help open your mind to wonder. Joy. Not mere pleasures but enduring joy. Your joy. You had it as a child. Grasp for it again. Discoveries can again be your . . . favorite toy. Your feet want to wander. Your mind longs to wonder. Your life needs the grandeur. Far beyond these insubstantial walls.
- Long Trips To Nowhere: Month 3
If it is for yourself, why not try your best? A third month of daily thought provokers. LTTN #3 features quick quotes, deeper thoughts, and imperfect poetry crafted to challenge your mind. LTTN is a few hundred well chosen words that each day will bring pleasure, anger, relief, and/or laughter. You will develop critical mental skills if you compare learned world views before deciding to enjoy, ignore, or unlearn a lifetime of indoctrination. She dances like heat waves beyond edges of my charted road Her mirage may have substance when the full truth be known She never approaches close enough or invites discourse so to see Starting an aggressive trek toward teasing vapors, it's not in me Depths of interaction that, if she is real, might set us both free Have been purposely hidden by her and I'm offered no key
- Long Trips To Nowhere: Month 2
More Daily Thought Provokers. A second fine month of quick quotes, deeper thoughts, and imperfect poetry. It does not matter if you start or finish your day with a challenging read -- LTTN 2 will help you stretch your own mind. May you find and live your best life. Your challenge is to start unlearning here. Spend time considering, years if need be. Forever after seek deeper realities wherever you wish. I'm asking you to override aspects of your basic human nature. First read everything in each day's read, especially when you disagree. Second, eventually make up your own mind despite what we who display authority proclaim. Finally, change your mind whenever new information requires it. It is your own life and the lives of those you love. Tackle the difficult today so all your future can be more rewarding. Why not do your best? I have seen where piers and mighty trees collapsed When storm surges attended from unusual directions; But I've watched as strong storms swirl and trees still stand, Having grown to respect adversity as encircling corrections.
- Long Trips To Nowhere: Month 4
Day by Day: Expand your mind's reach, discover other cultures and thoughts, so you can understand your own. Joining noise and fury to belong in a roaring crowd, diminish your sensitivity to all that should be allowed. Start furthering your growth now through what may be the final Long Trips To Nowhere book of daily thought provokers. Discover more about yourself and more about your world. You will not agree with every quote, thought, and poem; but considering each opens your mind to experience more. No one will give you a free education without hidden agendas. Wisdom and understanding are enthusiastic pursuits rather than academic records. What you know and what you accomplish are becoming far more important than where you studied. Dancers, hackers, and all people creative don't prosper in common schools. They need crafting tools -- and for society to get out of their way. This book can be your personal enrichment tool, use it. Yes it is hard to leave even a maniacal killer of a society behind. She played me like strumming a harp Music emoted from strings in my heart For all her life she had perfected her art Yet knowing my weakness and deciphering the score Only tore deeper from her aria to depart A better choice is out there. Life, she can be very good!
