Bill returns to the Isle of Man, meets Hilda and falls in love. He moves to Manchester to be with her and begins working on merchant ships and then cruise ships. But his nightmares continue and as his mental health deteriorates, he is in danger of losing everything.
Nora is finally happy but she still wonders where her daughter is. Then one day Jennifer appears on her doorstep. Nora’s happiness is complete, but is everything as it seems?
Jacob has married the woman of his dreams but discovers that the threat from the Nazis hasn’t receded. Can he survive to solve the mystery of the missing children?
As Tilly visits her dying mother she finally discovers the truth about the Nazi plot. But the last secret is even more devastating, one that leads to her final revenge and puts her life in terrible danger.

A One Way Ticket Book 1 New Beginnings Inspired by the true story of Bill Young, A One Way Ticket is a four book series mixing fact and fiction. Photos are included in every book and Bill’s true story is at the end of book 4, Journey’s End. Bill Young is caught in a police trap while trying to rob a jewellers shop in Douglas, The Isle of Man and given a choice of approved school or the Armed Forces. After joining the Royal Navy he finds himself protecting convoys in the Atlantic before being sent to the Mediterranean. But bad luck seems to follow him and he begins to wonder if he is jinxed. Tilly Weber had always craved excitement although murder was not part of the plan. But the world is rapidly changing and Tilly finds herself in the forefront of the fight against the Nazis. However, Tilly is torn between duty and family. Her sister Dot was evacuated at the beginning of the war and has gone missing. Jacob Goldsmith has gone to Berlin to rescue his cousin Sura and her family. But is he too late? As Jacob is drawn into the dangerous world of intelligence, his life will never be the same again. Bill’s sister Nora gets a job at the internment camps on the island and meets Tilly who recruits her to act as go between and give Jacob any information she finds out. They discover a Nazi plot to kidnap the Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret, but will they be in time?

Bill is now on HMS Keats and has fallen in love. But his nightmares are growing worse as does his feeling that he is jinxed and anyone who gets close to him gets hurt. His sister Nora’s nightmares are only just beginning but then she meets Hank and dares to believe that her life is about to change for the better. Francis agrees Levi is wasting his talents working at Trent Park so he receives special training and is sent to Germany to find German scientists before they are kidnapped by the Russians and Americans. Levi is convinced that the Nazis will get away with their crimes so has no qualms when he is asked to kill a biological weapons specialist. But things are not what they seem and his search leads to a dangerous change of direction. Suspecting Jacob is a British spy Clemens uses him to ask for Allied help with the July 20 plot to kill Hitler. Having fallen in love Jacob has married Clemens’ daughter Eva and after the plot fails Clemens asks Jacob to take Eva to the Allies. They reach Calais but are separated and before Jacob can do anything Eva is evacuated back to Berlin. Tilly’s role in Amsterdam working as part of an escape line for downed allied pilots comes under threat when Heinz Kessel recognises her. Intending to rescue her Francis sends Tilly to Berlin to find Eva, but has he sent her into trap?

After a V1 lands on a house in London Jacob is horrified to discover the bodies of several children. But is Tilly’s sister one of them? His investigations lead him to Halford Manor and he begins to unravel a diabolical plot. The war is finally over and after overseeing the surrender of German U-Boats and working on troopships Bill returns to civilian life. Having argued with Nora over her choice of husband he decides to do something to help find her missing daughter. But will his plan lead to more trouble? Nora heads to America with her new husband but soon realises she has made a terrible mistake. Not only is she is in danger of losing her son, her life is at risk. Levi decides to use his training to help his people fight for their homeland and is delighted when Tilly goes with him. But their plan to help is threatened by the sudden arrival of Kessel. Eva has survived and met up with her brothers, Claus and Konrad and they try to cross into the western section of Berlin. Konrad has arranged papers with an old acquaintance not realising that Harald Backer has his own agenda.
