SUMMARY Whitney has a world of experience having lived, studied, and worked in Asia, Europe, and America. He is CEO of Brand New Purpose, a brand transformation consultancy that creates purpose-built, values-driven opportunities. Whitney is also a consulting Chief Marketing Officer and change agent for Fortune 20 companies and pivotal Silicon Valley startups guiding over $20 billion and counting worth of M&A, IPOs, sales, and launches. He graduated with a M.A. in Social Change from Graduate Theological Union and with a B.F.A. from Parsons School of Design. WORLD OF EXPERIENCE Whitney is half-Dutch and half-Dutch American (double Dutch). He has a world of experience having lived, studied, and worked globally--New York, Tokyo, The Hague, London, Los Angeles, and Mumbai. He currently lives in Berkeley and the Wine Country with his wife and cat. He is the proud father of two bright and beautiful daughters. Whitney's Dutch mother, grandmother, and great-grandfather are all collected painters, and he continues the family tradition and has exhibited around the world. As an author, artist, and change agent, Whitney believes in the importance of both showing and telling in his books, work, and life. ALICE IN WONDERLAND His father worked for Pan American Airways (Pan Am), which took Whitney around the world from ages six to twenty, including a transformative year in Tokyo. At that time, he was a 6 year old from the New York suburbs who couldn't contemplate living in another land. But, like a dream, there he was, in a paper house, with a traditional Japanese garden, overlooking spectacular downtown Tokyo. It was as if he was Alice and Japan was Wonderland. He has never forgotten that moment of his life when he realized Japan was his new home and life was never the same. Whitney has been looking down rabbit holes and asking "Why?" ever since. BRAND NEW WORLD Whitney is co-founder of Work The Future! Today, a pathfinding group that practices the art of the possible, well in advance, and co-founder of Brand New Purpose, a brand transformation consultancy that creates purpose-built, values-driven opportunities. CHANGE AGENT He is also an interim Chief Marketing Officer and forward-facing change agent for Fortune 20 companies and game changing Silicon Valley startups. Whitney graduated with a M.A. in Social Change from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley with a thesis on Community Building, and with a B.F.A. in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City. FUTURE... OF WORK His expertise on the Future of Work has been featured in four books, including a bestseller by Dan Pink. Whitney's next book is titled "Second Act: Creating a meaningful middle age and beyond", which will be coming out in 2018. You can find him at @brandguru and WTF! at @workfuturenow on Twitter.
