Mourning the recent loss of her husband and soulmate, Rebecca decides to return to the home they both loved as children. Her return to Heaven's Gate, the place that her father held as sacred Indian land, reminds Rebecca of the deep secret that she and Mason shared, and their solemn promise to tell no one.

While Rebecca seeks to find out who she is, and where she came from, her best friend Maggie learns more about the Indian Spirit world than she ever thought possible. As Maggie searches for her missing friend, her struggles and secrets produce a challenge she will have to overcome. 

Maggie's life is turned upside down as she is drawn in to the mysterious spirit world Rebecca brings back with her. These two women must face the revelations that come before them, and move on to forge their destiny. Together they must bring back life to the dying reservation.

In search of answers, Rebecca travels back through the cave. What she finds is not all pleasant, a harsh reality that finding truth brings with it. She is now faced with hard choices that she alone must make. Leaving her father behind and moving on to face her destiny. Maggie discovers that everyone has some kind of secret, some kind of history that has molded them into who they are. Can they all move on from the past and mold themselves into new future.

Rebecca felt as though she had lost everything. Mason had always been the strong one. He was the one who had held on tight when everyone else suddenly left her. Now he was gone, and yet a piece of him was alive inside of her. She needed answers not only for herself but for her child. Doc Morehouse's revelations left her with many unanswered questions. Her father knew the answers, but he had vanished as mysteriously as he had appeared. Where did she come from was taunting her.  Heathers diary only opened up more questions, and she had to seek out the answers. 

Maggie's life is drastically changed by Mollie's accident, Doc Morehouse's revelation that her twins have different fathers, and Roy's sudden return to Hillcrest. Roy, with his millions, will surely take Mollie from her if her secret is revealed. Her visions of Daniel return with a vengeance. Upset with her deep dark secret, Parker tells her he has to leave, or he will reveal the truth to Roy. Maggie is left to decide to face life on her own, possibly lose her children and everything she has worked so hard for, or break down and accept the help that Roy wants to provide..

How could one night change someone's life so much. A disagreement with Roy Walker the man she loved, and a unusually strange mystic night with an Indian named Daniel White Hawk left her married, a widow, and surprisingly pregnant. All the things she thought she would never be.  Daniels father Red Hawk presented Maggie with an alternative. He chose someone to be the father of his grandchildren. Her life with Parker became her salvation until an accident brought Roy back into her life.

Maggie's life takes a tumble as she tries to understand all the changes going on around her. Parker returns unannounced. Mollie takes up residence with her father and Matson begs to stay with Parker. For Maggie it seems as if Daniel's Indian prophecy has come to pass. Her children are taken by the Wolf and the Bear. Has she lost them for good? She tries to keep herself occupied with Redemption Camp and keeping her ranch afloat when two friends from her past arrive bringing with them jealousy, intrigue and mystery. Just what does the mysterious arrival of Bronson and Bradley mean? What is it that they want from Maggie?

Maggie has some decisions to make. She knows that Triton will not win and if she doesn't race Storm she will lose her ranch, but she has to be the one to ride him, and she can't in her condition. Redemption Camp did well for its first year, but it didn't bring in enough money to cover all the expenses.  Brad and Bronson put up the money for the Bed and Breakfast but it just opened and she had to pay them back. She has to figure out how to make all the ends meet before all the bills come due. Bronson is far too willing to help her out. She knows he will want something in exchange after all doesn't everyone have some kind of agenda. Then there was the baby. She has to choose a father and she has to commit to one of them. She was always a free spirit, in fact that was why she never married Parker, but she knew that all her children needed a father that they could count on. She had to choose the right one. After all just looking at the choice Brad had made with Rita was enough to make anyone cringe.  She had to be extremely careful in whom she chose.  She could only hope that Cammy was strong enough to put Rita in her place. Mac and Cheyenne were on the way to matrimony, but she wants to put everything on hold, and keep it secret. Mac wonders why all the secrecy.  Then she suddenly just disappears without a word. Brook and Bailee were heading home and saying goodbye to their father when a limousine pulls up and out stepped their mother.  This was a confrontation that Mac was not going to enjoy.

Alexis life is changing rapidly. Her mother and stepfather sit her down and tell her that the father she believed was dead all these years is alive. All this time Mason Longbow has been living in a village on the other side of a cave. Heaven's Gate has always been off limits to her and her brother. She never knew why until now. It had always just been a piece of land above thier cabin.  Now they are telling her that they are leaving their home and heading to this village. She was not so excited about this move. She wasn't sure how you meet a father that you thought was dead. She was angry and sure that she could never trust anyone again, especially her mother. While collecting wood for the campfire Alexis stumbles upon several Indian warriors. One voice seemed so familiar to her. She was not sure why until she heard him say that he had been searching years for his wife Rebecca and his daughter. Braxton stole them from him and he would seek revenge. She was sure now that this man was her real father. She wanted answers and this warrior had those answers. 

Maggie must make a decision. She has three men in her life and one of them will soon be revealed to be the father of her baby. Her choice this time must be a Forever Choice so she wants to get it right. Bronson her childhood friend returned for a reunion or was it planned? He came to her with a money making scheme to change her life. One drunken night that she can't remember put him back into her life in a way that she wasn't counting on. Parker a man who was assigned by her father in law Red Hawk after the death of her husband Daniel to teach her children the ways of the Indian while preparing her son Matson to be the next chief. He stayed with her until the death of their son David. He left knowing that she was in love with another man. When he returned he told her of his love, but was it love or loneliness that brought the two of them together that night? Roy was an arrogant wealthy playboy most of his adult life, She was introduced to him before her sudden marriage to Daniel by her best friend Rebecca. Rebecca and Mason decided that Alexis would return home to Mason's brother and his wife Maggie. She would be goint home where she would be safe. Mason took her to the cave and gave her specific instructions. Wanape was to take Grey Storm hunting and then reveal that Alexis was gone. Angry Grey Storm was determined to find the woman that he loved. No one would separate them. She was the love he had been searching for his whole life, and he would not let her go even if it meant his death

While collecting wood for the campfire Alexis stumbles upon several Indian Warriors. She listens quietly as they talk. The one Indian's voice seemed so familiar to her. His voice just echoed in her head. She was sure she had heard this voice before.  When he says that he has been searching for his wife and daughter for years she listens a little closer." I will kill that Braxton Hawk if I ever find him for stealing them from me." From what she heard  this warrior might just be her real father. Possibly Braxton stole her and her mother from him. She is sure, but she wants some answers and it seemed as if this warrior has those answers.
