The School for Sophistication Series
()
About this series
After three failed seasons, Julia Montford is finally seeing her freedom on the horizon, despite her brother, the Viscount Montford's insistence that marriage is her destiny. But no amount of stolen kisses in London gardens at midnight has convinced her that she's found the magic of love and desire. That is, not until she wagers against her old childhood friend, Benjamin Burton, who's no longer a child but an experienced British cavalry captain with broad shoulders, deep blue eyes and a pair of lips that sends her plans toppling over like a pile of syllabub. When caught out in their moment of passion, parson's mousetrap threatens, forcing Julia and Ben into a false courtship. Well, maybe false in Julia's eyes, but Ben has other plans that involve kissing, wooing and wedding Julia with the help of The School for Sophistication's intrepid duo, Lady Caro and the Dowager Lady Rutherford.

- The Viscount and the Virgin: The School for Sophistication, #1
1
Commodore Gabriel Montford, veteran of the British Royal Navy, is forced to resign his commission, thanks to his idiot brothers' early deaths, now making him the tenth Viscount Montford, a title he does not want and an inheritance he cannot afford. To save his ancestral estate and his sisters' future he must find a wife with a healthy dowry and the ability to give him heirs. Abigail Prescott, an improverished spinster from Boston, has just landed in England to live with her last relation on earth. All she has is her pride, her lace-making talents and the knowledge that she'll remain a spinster all her life. But at least one adventure might not be amiss, would it? When a wind-blown bonnet brings Montford and Abigail together, well-laid plans begin to unravel. And if Lady Caro Ashford has anything to do with turning the unassuming American into a sophisticated beauty . . . well then, the viscount had better re-think his plans. This is the first novel in a new series, The School for Sophistication, featuring the intrepid Lady Caro as the teacher of sophisticated ways and manners (and perhaps how to enjoy an adventure or two!).
- Romancing a Rogue: The School for Sophistication, #3
3
Lady Catherine Wesley has a problem . . . She's just turned six-and-twenty, is still of pristine virtue, intelligent and generous in her charitable works. She is also tired of being a drab, a stumblebum and generally ignored by men of all ages. But she is seriously in lust -- if not love -- with Marcus Burton, the tall, rugged and dashing young man with a checkered past, recently returned from India and now her brother, the Earl of Lynnbrooke's business partner. But Lady Catherine Wesley has a solution . . . Well, there's only one way to proceed -- to hire the intrepid duo of Lady Caro and the dowager Lady Rutherford to school her in sophisticated, seductive ways to entice and woo Marcus Burton while her overly-protective brother is away on his honeymoon . . . and the clock is ticking! Romancing a Rogue, the third romance in The School for Sophistication series, offers readers a lively Regency romp, including your favorite characters, a somewhat problematic romance and a peppering of intrigue. Come join the fun!
- At Long Last: The School for Sophistication, #4
4
Lady Caroline Ashford collected husbands like some women collected Dresden china. But over the years each had died an early death. Was she cursed? As a true believer in passion and love, she certainly hoped not. But there was one man who eluded her, by her own choice, many years ago. A pragmatic woman and knowing that life moves on, she'd found husbands, good men whom she'd respected and loved well. Er, perhaps too well? Now as she and her friend and business partner, the Dowager Lady Rutherford, settle into middle age and slow their pace a bit, a surprise awaits her. A tall, handsome, tawny-haired Frenchman from her past arrives on her doorstep without warning, sending her into a dead faint. As the Duke of Huntington's home becomes filled to the rafters with family, neighbors and guests for a mid-winter house party, high jinx and seductions abound. . It's enough to make a woman's head spin -- and Lady Caro's head does spin, as well as her heart, despite her best intentions not to fall in love and threaten a fourth's man's life, for goodness sake. As a matter of fact, no one escapes this mid-winter madness that sweeps through Huntington Hall. The final book of The School for Sophistication series brings many of the characters from previous romances together once again in a rollicking, romantic story that will warm your heart and certainly bring forth a chuckle or two. Enjoy!
