The Pierced Series

Imagine the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo meets Betty Crocker. That's Pierce in a nutshell. Pierce has been on the run for two years from the man who held her captive in a vampire compound for almost a decade. Life on the run would be a lot simpler if she didn't think she suffered from several social disorders and 'quirks,' have a ten-year-old brat in tow, as well as have two characters from a 1945 classic film living in her head and guiding her at every turn.

Oscar Alvarez de Sevilla was living the American dream. Attending a prestigious law school in New York City and madly in love with the girl downstairs, who he was pretty much going to marry as soon as he graduated. Everything was going as planned and life was good. Twelve years later he is the centerpiece in a daring plan to help two young girls escape from the ruthless psychopath who has had them locked up for most of their lives. The same man for whom Oscar has been working for several years now. His actions will guarantee he will be dead in less than a year, regardless of whether or not he and the girls are recaptured. How did things go so wrong?

Negotiating the relentless pull of the mate bond is tough. Especially when one is still traumatized by memories of childhood sexual abuse and the other point blank refuses to acknowledge (out loud at least) that there is a mate bond at all. While Pierce tries to deal with the aftereffects of her new and "unpierced" self, Lucas relives the week leading up to that fateful night when he was forced into doing the one thing he vowed he never would - inflict his disease on another human being. As if he didn't hate himself enough already. As she attempts to come to terms with the new her - the Pierce that is stronger, faster and less reliant on her former "dependencies" - she begins to settle into an unfamiliar, yet longed for, "normal" life with her newfound circle of family and friends. Pierce is finally able to do what her maker never could - embrace, accept and thrive from what she has become. With Pierce's not-so-subtle help, Lucas comes face to face with the fact that maybe it's time for him to start coming to terms with this "affliction" too. But it is not going to be easy. Especially when they come into contact with another pack for the first time.

"Can't live with him, can't live without him." Never has this expression seemed more true to Pierce as she deals with the aftermath of her trauma in Salt Lake City. Pierce and Lucas can't seem to stay apart from each other for very long without the night panics happening again - but being together is almost as torturous. Will her past ever allow her to be intimate with him? Can she afford to let her guard down and allow herself to be happy? She's still suffering from the post-traumatic stress of what happened to her the last time she did that. On the plus side, their little town of Nowhere is exceeding even the most conservative of expectations and seems to be becoming just the opposite. So much so, that it has appeared on the radar of the wolf community. Or at least Pierce's presence has. Suddenly it seems like Nowhere is THE place to be these days...

NAPOLEON is a NA, M/M Romance and stand-alone novella (32K words) in the Pierced Series. You do not have to have read other books in the series to enjoy it. Description: Napoleon Charming-Balak has been crushing on the "exchange student" that's been staying with him for the last six months. Meant to be read AFTER Book 5. Moused Thurman was sure there had to be better ways to spend Christmas Eve than being held hostage in an elevator by a sexy, sassy, vampire-assassin. But for the life of him, he couldn't think of one.
