    Flush with cash from their previous adventure, Randy and Piho head to Australia to catch up with geek-girl Tammy, but they're soon immersed in trouble, or to be more precise: flood-water! And that's how Randy discovers the most amazing fossil ever found in Australia.

    He's busting to share it with budding paleontologist Tammy, but he also has the chance to sell it for a cool million to the guy from the Berlin Museum, so the secret is kept until the deal is done. But of course it all quickly turns to kanga-poo: "Fossie" is soon stolen and the villains are already getting away! 

    Teaming up with annoying tech-nerd Winton and local girl Nikki, Tammy and the boys embark on a crazy car-chase towards a classic 'Horse-Apples' showdown!

      Things quickly turn to 'horse apples' when dumb teen Randy Cathro persuades his slightly smarter bro Piho Waitere to go steal some money. By next morning, all their hasty lies come back to bite them on the bum. Suddenly they're managing a massive school fund-raising campaign while trying to hide from a TV film company that's apparently trying to track them down … but what for? Revenge? The stress gets too much. As their friendship flies apart, Randy gets stuck instead with nerd-queen Tammy Turinger – best fundraiser ever – as all these complex events race towards the day the cameras start to roll with the whole school watching. All the dopey duo has to do is stay out of trouble long enough to make themselves a shed-ton of money, but somehow they once again manage to hit the trigger on the crap-cannon ...

Then, on the same day Piho arrives, Randy discovers a rare type of seaweed that triggers an escalating cascade of crazy consequences. Turns out it's worth mega-bucks, and the boys know where it grows! While Randy and Piho drag seaweed in the summer sun, Beau wins her dream-job and Tammy gets political, using science to track the source of a banned chemical. (Oh but surely these diverse events could not possibly be connected; hmm?) As the two boys rush to sell their final consignment and make thousands, the net finally closes. They're forced to prove their innocence in front of the whole town – in the most explosive way possible!

Randy's getting rich but he's not happy. The apple-of-his-eye Tammy Turinger is still furious about his holiday blunder. What can he possible do to get back in her good books? Why – join "A.R.F" of course: the Animal Rights Federation, and start protesting!  Then Randy opens his dumb mouth and triggers a secret mission to invade Barry Boyd's disgusting pig farm, dressed as a girl with a camera in her bra! Meanwhile, dirty-dealing Boyd is once again trying to grease his way into the good-books of Kainui by promoting the first ever Environmental Arts Festival, much to Beau's delight. On the big day, however, ARF has other plans: "Free the Pigs!". Chaos and panic, but at least Barry Boyd's villainy is exposed, and the town's finances are saved. Then things really turn to crap!

    Ged Maybury is an Australasian author of children's and YA novelist, with 14 books conventionally published (not counting this series) and a lot more in the pipeline. Finalist - NZ Children's Book Awards 1994: “The Triggerstone” Finalist - NZ Children's Book Awards 2001: “Crab Apples” He began 1994 in his favourite genre: Science Fiction, later adding comedy and slice-of-life, and finally returned to his sci-fi roots with Steampunk. This series is aimed at young adults and anyone else who likes an engaging adventure, but as far as any full-on “adult” content goes: well that's just not his thing. (Okay – there's a bit of it.) He was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and grew up in Dunedin; dux of his school; blah-blah-blah … Went into architecture, ended up in the performing arts and has been writing plays, poetry and books ever since. He also has earned some notoriety as a Cosplayer and Costumer, Steampunk Sculptor, Performance Poet and Story-teller. Occasionally he writes plays and films. Even more occasionally they get produced.
