    Laura and Solitaire come face to face with a true Mission Impossible, here. On the historical backdrop of the Armada´s failed campaign of 1588, the sisters follow on the long-lost trail of a Spanish traitor who, having left his compañeros in the lurch during the foundering of their ship, the Gran Grifón, near Fair Isle, vanished with both several pocketfuls of ducats and invaluable gold crucifixes, only to re-emerge in the folds of the German Hanse as Englishman Yorrick.
    Being of the stuff myths are made of, Yorrick later became the founding father of a well-reputed Brotherhood, which, after his death, gradually degenerated into a criminal gang, soon seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth, only to rear its head again more recently as the politically refurbished Thule Tingvall, whose home turf are the far-off archipelagos at the Old World´s Nort-western rim: Hebrides, Orkneys, Shetlands. Consequently, it´s those island territories which become the stepping-stones of the Forster sisters´ bloody route toward that magic place going by the name of Bluebell.

For neutral, yet politically rollercoasting Sweden beyond ABBA and Pippi L., it all boiled down to the bizarre episode known as "Whiskey on the Rocks," aka the grounding of S-363, by whose sombre, silent shadow Laura and her sister Solitaire are being guided to the nest of the Grey Albatrosses, a Rotary of the international crime élite presided over by the mysterious Schramm. As always, the name Laura Forster vouches for exciting as well as humorous entertainment, seasoned, this time, with an unabashed homage to the unique biotope of the Stockholm and Åland Island skerries, Morlockian submariners and the endangered species of Tall Ship sailors.

    Geboren 1945 in Altensteig, Nordschwarzwald, wuchs Paul Werner in Wuppertal auf. Als Berufsoffiziersanwärter verließ er 1967 nach fast drei Dienstjahren die Bundesmarine. Anlass seiner Demission war der seines Erachtens damals von Politik und Justiz unter den Teppich gekehrte Mord an dem Studenten Benno Ohnesorg. In Würzburg und Bonn studierte er englische und russische Philologie auf das Höhere Lehramt. Ein weiteres Ziel, das er 1972 trotz des inzwischen erlangten Staatsexamens wieder verwarf. Stattdessen ergriff er die Gelegenheit, als Seiteneinsteiger Konferenzdolmetscher der EU-Kommission in Brüssel zu werden. Studierte parallel zu seiner Arbeit aus zuletzt acht "passiven" Sprachen ins Deutsche und Englische auch sechs Semester Jura an der Fernuni Hagen und hielt sich beruflich längere Zeit jeweils in verschiedenen europäischen Metropolen und Kulturen wie London, Kopenhagen, Athen, Moskau und Istanbul auf. Mit einer Dänin verheiratet, besuchte er Skandinavien und nicht zuletzt Norwegen regelmäßig zu Wasser und zu Lande. Nachdem er sich schon während seiner Militär- und Studienzeit immer mal wieder mit Gelegenheitsartikeln für alle möglichen Gazetten versucht hatte, widmete er sich vom Zeitpunkt seiner Pensionierung an fast ausschließlich der Abfassung von maritimen Essays und Abenteuerromanen mit kriminalistischem Einschlag (siehe Verzeichnis). Paul Werner ist geschiedener Vater dreier erwachsener, "durch und durch dänischer" Töchter, wohnt selbst jedoch in Heidelberg.
