Soleil Burns works for the Bureau of Exorcism. Paired up with a US Marshals Fugitive Recovery Team they will try to bring back an escaped convict possessed by a demon and hiding in the slums of Chicago. It immediately becomes apparent that there is more going on than a simple case of a possessed escaped convict. The entire Division of Magic in Chicago has also been possessed. It's a feat that could only have been accomplished by a very powerful witch or wizard. As Soleil digs deeper into the mass possession of a critical part of the police department, she will need all her skills as an exorcist and an investigator. It will also require an open heart and some sage advice from friends and family, to help her face down some of the most powerful beings she has ever dealt with. Both human and demonic.

Soleil Burns was born to be an exorcist.  Since meeting Valerie and Jerome Dusdain, the previous summer, her life has been chaos, good chaos, but chaos.  Soleil has started her own private exorcism company, in preparation of becoming the guardian of the most powerful wizard in the world, who also happens to be only fourteen years old.  With Valerie's cancer getting worse and the archangel Michael's dire warnings regarding her impending death, the possibility of becoming Jerome's guardians is now more of an eventuality. While helping Jerome with his homework, Soleil notices her normally energetic werewolf neighbors aren't up and around like usual.  Then she notices  they have a package on their doorstep, which is strange since it's a Sunday.  When she goes to check on them, she finds the house full of silver particles and the five werewolves barely clinging to life. Soon, she finds herself chasing a serial killer.  A serial killer who knows her every move.  She must stop him before anymore supernatural families are murdered.  How do you stop a killer who knows what you intend to do nearly as soon as you decide to do it?  How much of her soul will he take before he's safely in handcuffs?  Soleil Burns finds out early on you can't chase a serial killer and not have it change you.

Soleil Burns is adjusting to being a single parent to the most powerful wizard the world has ever known.  She's in training to get her private investigator license to accompany her private exorcist license, and she's now also a small business owner.   Into the chaos of regular life comes an ancient artifact of incredible power.  Soleil's family tells her demon boxes haven't been seen on earth for nearly ten thousand years.  Soleil needs to find out how and why one has shown up in modern day St. Louis before someone gets killed by the hordes of demons and other spectral beings pouring forth from it.   As more boxes appear around the city, Soleil's exorcism business is booming, but she must discover who is sending them before the hell princes take over the city. Ensuring even her magic isn't strong enough to send them back across the Stygian Divide.  She will have to get help from her family and friends to help solve this mystery before it's too late.

The Dead Don't Fear Demons   Soleil Burns has finally accepted her connection to the Stygian and all that comes with it. She's halfway through her training to get her private investigator's license when the AESPCA crashes into her office to accuse her of summoning homicidal demons. To add to the confusion a routine exorcism goes awry when Soleil discovers a cambion parasitically attached to the demon she's exorcising. Cambions are the offspring of demons and the living, and there hasn't been one on Earth for over five hundred years.  There is only one place Soleil can get answers; The Stygian and the Hell Princes that inhabit it. Traveling to The Stygian is easy enough for Soleil but comes with risks. The Hell Prince Belial is desperate to obtain her soul. Most Hell Princes have a sense of fair play, Belial is not most Hell Princes. He tried to obtain her soul by consuming her body during their last encounter. The encounter which took place on Earth resulted in the loss of Soleil's wings. Soleil has serious concerns about encountering him in The Stygian. The murders are being committed on nights of the new moon. Realizing the new moon is a few days away, Soleil will set aside her personal safety to get the answers they need to stop the murder from happening. Also, she needs to find the demon doing the killing and the being summoning it. Proving she's innocent will require Soleil to learn more about demons and The Stygian, as well as force her to expand her magical skills.

Soleil Burns and the investigators of Angel Investigations are on a job when someone breaks into their office and destroys their files. Figuring out who broke in and why is just the beginning of a personal investigation.   During her hunt for who broke into her office and why, she will discover her former business partner, Janet has disappeared. Determined to find Janet, Soleil will reveal the life Janet left for was a lie, but why wouldn't Janet come back home when she realized it was a ploy unless she can't.   Soleil's quest for answers will uncover a larger conspiracy of evil that wants to take BEDRs goal of making people and demons live together on Earth and go beyond. This group believes demonic possession is the ultimate state of being; all the powers of the demonic along with the benefits of being alive.

Soleil Burns is intrigued to learn the Secret Service needs her help with a case. She doesn't always know how to use her magic, nor does she understand why it works or doesn't. She can't imagine why a government entity like the Secret Service would need assistance from her. And with Jerome spending spring break with her uncles, she's even more limited in capabilities because he's not available to assist. When she gets a ransom demand, she must decide which is more important to her following the law or getting back her family with no casualties. And all while trying to assist a Secret Service agent with an issue of national security.
