About this series
Did the Dragon Make You Do It?
There's nothing like being left out of your own party. I sent my gang to the super secret dragon training facility to keep them safe, but now I'm on the outside, living with another dragon anchor who'd like to kill me half the time, and wondering exactly where it was that I screwed up... again.
Between forest fire duty, juggling the media shit-storm over the existence of dragons, and doing my best not to end up on TV, you'd think I wouldn't have time to miss them. You'd think I'd put in enough hours, that the universe had finished messing with me.
Think again.
Just when I'm sure I've got everything under control, my old enemy breaks out of jail, a rival gang comes after my crew, and the giant Silver Death Worm decides I'm its new best friend.
Highly unlikely.
Between keeping what crew I have left, keeping the dragons I don't control from instigating an unstoppable crime spree, and keeping myself from getting mended, I shouldn't have time to worry about Doc. Except, all of a sudden, my would-be boyfriend is at the very center of everything.
And lying his ass off.
What do you do when all your problems point straight to the one person in the world you want to believe in? What do you do when you lose everything, and even the voices in your head have no idea how to get it back?

Is There A Dragon In You? I never should have let Steph drag me to that Psychic Fair. Metaphysical nonsense doesn't suit me, Seattle doesn't suit me, and I think I might be allergic to patchouli. I'm definitely allergic to car accidents, to giant elk falling from the sky, and most importantly, to the huge, blue dragon that's attached its obnoxious tail to my navel. Just try having a smart-ass dragon nattering in your brain twenty-four-seven. Better yet, don't try it. I recommend skipping the entire, batshit crazy, ordeal. Avoid black cats. Don't get that Reiki treatment, and definitely don't wake up alone, surrounded by other dragons who know way more than you do about what the hell is going on. I can handle it, though. I got this covered. Just as soon as I figure out how to get away from the urban highlander who thinks I'm his mate. Just as soon as I work out how to detach… I wouldn't recommend that. You see what I mean? Crazy. Now I have to escape, to convince the nutty dragon clan that I am not their leader, and to come up with some way to get rid of… You could try exorcism? I get the feeling this isn't going to be easy.

Do you have a dragon problem? It's not easy living with a dragon in your belly, but I think I've finally figured it out. We're going to be just fine, so long as the rest of the world doesn't find out. Which of course, is going to happen any second. It's not like I want life to be easy, but maybe, we could leave out getting stalked across Eastern Washington by reporters, followed by cops, and impersonated by strangers on the internet. Maybe, my gang could stop fighting among themselves, I could stop gathering runaways like a mother hen, and the stoner kid with a megalomania complex and a dragon that dwarfs my own will just leave us alone and go away. Keep dreaming. I've never been an optimist, but maybe, if the world would stop conspiring against me, I could keep it from finding out about dragons. And get Doc back? My personal, invisible, Blue smartass isn't helping. Unfortunately, he's right. Doc left us. Now everyone's looking at me to fix things, our gang's coming apart at the seams, and I think I'm being haunted by a silver death worm. You made that up. Never mind. Some days, it's best to let the dragon win.
