Alice is brought back to Wonderland in this modern reimagining of the classic! Years after that fateful fall down the rabbit hole, Alice has moved on from the memories of Wonderland and is now attending the prestigious Lucena Academy to get a fresh start. Unfortunately, a purple haired boy appears at school and reveals himself to be the Cheshire Cat. He speaks in riddles about how Wonderland is a much different place than when Alice last visited and tempts her with a visit back. Alice must decide whether or not she will go back, or the Cheshire Cat will make the choice for her.

It's her fault that Adrinna's brothers are missing, so Alice takes it upon herself to scour Wonderland to find them over the summer. She never thought it would be this difficult to find three boys who so obviously didn't belong there, but they continue to elude her search for them. There's a new group of people in the plains that are most definitely not from Wonderland. Alice encounters Tiger Lily, a young woman determined to do whatever she needs to help her people as they escape the horrors of their homelands. Though Alice is hesitant to stop looking for Adrianna's brothers, Tiger Lily  proves to be very persuasive and will have Alice's help whether she is willing or not.

With her time running out, Alice is trying to get as much as she can in order before she disappears forever. Even with some pleasant surprises at Christmas, there are still a lot of things left to take care of both in this world and on the other side of the mirror. Adam still won't leave Wonderland willingly, though, and she still can't find Matt. Worse, there's something strange happening at school and Alice's room is being broken into and ransacked. She tries to remind herself that she won't have to deal with this for much longer, but it's clear that someone is looking for the books and she knows that she has to keep them from falling into the wrong hands, or the terrors that have taken Wonderland will leak into this world.

After an unsettling Christmas with Adrianna's family, Alice returns to school and a much more normal problem than she'd ever had to deal with before. Adrianna likes a boy and needs a date for his friend if she wants to spend more time with him. Alice agrees, but soon finds she's not ready for what that means. The other side of the mirror and searching for Adrianna's brothers becomes an escape from the life she'd dreamed of, even as she gains a new shadow while exploring Wonderland. She gains a shadow in a boy named Peter who has taken an interest in her and the things she can do. He is definitely not from around here and learns that where Wonderland ends, another world begins.

Wonderland was behind her for good now. The Cheshire Cat was back in Wonderland and that terrible book was not hidden away where no prying eyes would find it. There was nothing stopping Alice from having a perfectly normal life at Lucena Academy now. Those hopes are quickly shattered when the creature from the book begin to attack the student body. Tracking it by the shrill screams of its victims which terrify her to the core, she must find a way to press on. After all, it's her fault this creature is terrorizing the campus in the first place.

Alice might have won, but she is far from finished. The Bandersnatch is gone and Alice is free of the bet they made. Adrianna is awake. Wonderland may be spiraling further into madness, but Ailce has other things to worry about. After her extended break in Wonderland, she learns that her classmates don't quite remember the last year the same way she does.  To make matters stranger, Adrianna is not the same girl she was before. Since waking up, she is aware of the truth behind Alice's lies and more determined to help free her of Wonderland's grasp, whether Alice wants it or not.

After all this time, the end was finally in sight. Alice long ago learned that life wasn't fair. She had tried everything to defeat the Bandersnatch, but he remained deep in the forest of Lucena Academy. With only one semester left, she thought she could just enjoy herself as much as possible and wait until he finally took her away forever. But when Adrianna suddenly falls into a coma, Alice knows there's something strange happening. At the direction of the monster about to claim her, she must go back into Wonderland and through the depths of Neverland to find a way to wake her up. Alice knows time is running out for her, but she will stop at nothing to make sure Adrianna is okay.

If there was one thing Alice was good at, it was lying.  When Alice swears that she is done with Wonderland, Adrianna wants to believe she is telling the truth. Alice has stopped going to Wonderland, stopped vanishing at a whim, stopped ignoring her teachers in class. It's like she's a whole new girl, one that is ready to move on with her life and start working toward her future.  But there are cracks appearing in the mirrors--and in Alice's facade. There is more to that growing illness than she is letting on. But Adrianna has other problems, from Arthur blackmailing her into a relationship to her brother still being possessed. It's only a matter of time before Wonderland comes knocking again, and someone will answer its call.

She was starting to feel the defeat in her victories. Another day. Another day…    Adrianna is taking matters into her own hands. If Alice wasn't going to help herself, then she was going to do it for her. After saving her from another holiday with her father, she was ready for Wonderland to come back into her life again and she was prepared. But the days keep passing and everything remains far too quiet.    Alice is tired. She's done everything she could possibly think of to make the people around her happy, but it still isn't enough. Nothing she ever does is enough, and Alice isn't sure why she's trying so hard to resist the madness for them.
