About this series
The Wars Of The Shannons: In the third book in the Shannon series... young Patrick Shannon is the heir-apparent to the Shannon fortune, but murder and betrayal at a family gathering send him fleeing into the American frontier, with only the last words of a wise old woman to arm him against what would come. And when the outbreak of the Civil War comes he finds himself fighting on the opposite side of those he loves the most. In The Wars Of The Shannons we see the conflict, both on the battlefield and the homefront, through the eyes of Patrick and the members of his extended Irish-American family as they struggle to survive the conflict that ripped the new nation apart, and yet, offered a dim beacon of hope.

This is a hard-hitting saga of the Tet Offensive -- North Vietnam's all-out attempt to win the war in 1968. Praised as a "Classic War Novel" by the San Francisco Chronicle, and "...Sets high standards for all other Vietnam War fiction," by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the widely praised novel tells the story of the war from both sides of the conflict. It contains an enormous cast of characters including Major Dennis Shannon - a leader any soldier would follow to hell and back - and Mosby, who would be recommended for the Medal of Honor for his actions during Tet, North Vietnamese General Vo Le Duan who knows that he will never achieve the glory he desires, and the mysterious Miss Tram, a spy more deadly than any frontline soldier. Its compelling plot is enhanced by the authors' intimate knowledge of the land and people of Vietnam. The result is a gripping, fast-paced story that brings the horror as well as the nobility of war to life
