EXCERPT:
The tallest thief, again, led his pack by stepping over to me and then lifting me by an elbow. It hurt, but the pressure applied to the plastic wrapping around my wrists sent electricity through my nerves. I was turned on by the situation, by how terrified I was of being helpless.
He asked me in a gruff voice, “So you’re the manager?” He shook me, just in case I wasn’t sure if he was speaking to me.
“Yes, that’s me,” I said, regaining a sense of strength. “How can I help you gentlemen today?”
The squat and balding teller, Bill was his name, looked at me, horrified. How could I be giving these robbers attitude? They had guns and, he was sure of it, they weren’t afraid to use them. He was quaking in his argyle sweater vest on the laminate floor.
He shook me again, and again the electricity played down my chest and into my underwear. “Funny, are we?” he said. He dragged me a few steps away from the rest of the group and asked me where the keys were. I was in the mood, so I took a chance.
