About this series

The Ghostly Ghastlys are a family of ghosts. There is not much that can harm ghosts, but they must beware of the Great Ghost Snow.

The skeletons are building an igloo. Unknowingly, they are stirring the magic up - and it isn't good.

Along comes the Snowman Rescuer. He's a bit of a windbag, but he knows all about snow: rainbow snow, singing snow, pudding snow and stampeding snow that chases and kicks. He has rescued many children - but not from the Great Ghost Snow.

When the little Ghastlys find themselves whirled up in it, he won't do anything about it - not even when more ghosts get caught.

See what the Ghastlys' friends have to do to get him to get him to even step outside of the nice, cosy igloo!

A full colour, highly illustrated, exciting and fun story for readers of 7 - 10 years. It is Book 8 in the Ghostly Ghastly series, but can be read on its own.

The little Ghastlys are up to their tricks again. This time they want to save their new home from the Striped-Suit Man. He plans to clear up the skeletons, and pull down the Old Museum where the Ghastly family now live. The skeletons don't want to be cleared away, and Mr and Mrs Ghastly don't want to find another home - they had enough trouble before because of the little Ghastlys' tricks. No-one wanted mischievous ghosts living in their houses. The Old Museum is good because there is no-one for the ghost children to annoy. To start with, the little Ghastlys' tricks do send the man away, but he threatens to return. In the meantime, the little Ghastlys rescue a bat from a tomato box. The bat is a very useful friend, but with the Striped-Suit man coming back with burly men, the Ghastlys discover that they need more than tricks to thwart his plans. Book 1 of the Ghostly Ghastly series is "Finding A Home." The family search the town to find a place to live - where the mischievous ghost children won’t annoy anyone. Book 3 is called "Alfonso." See what happens when the little Ghastlys play their tricks in the Italian Restaurant next door. The series is great for young readers aged 7-9 years and each book is written in short chapters with illustrations. Book 2, Branwing, has been rewritten with numerous colour illustrations throughout.

The Ghastly family are ghosts. They live in the castle above the town. Other ghosts live there too, because it is a haunted castle. Mr and Mrs Ghastly are singers and always busy with rehearsals and performances, so the little Ghastlys often do what they like. What they like doing is to make the visitors scream. The little Ghastlys are very good at playing tricks, and people love to come and be frightened. But the other castle ghosts are jealous that the little Ghastlys are more popular than them. When the ghost children play tricks on the other ghosts, the Ghastlys family are thrown out of the castle. Finding a new home isn’t easy. There is something wrong with everywhere they go: too shiny, too narrow, too open, too modern, too many people. At last they find an old museum that hasn’t been open for years. It seems ideal, but could it be that other ghosts are already living there? If so, how will they get on with the mischievous little Ghastlys?

Having successfully got out of going to their parents night-time concerts, the little Ghastlys have absolutely nothing to do in the evenings. They decide to visit Alfonso’s Italian Restaurant. It is next door and is bright and colourful with lively music and happy customers. And it’s great fun to leap out of pizzas and shower the customers with flour, scaring them so much that they run off without paying their bills. The customers don’t come back and the restaurant becomes a dark and dismal sort of place. Alfonso is in despair because no-one comes to dinner any more. Can the little Ghastlys find a way to put things right? This is Book 3 in the Ghostly Ghastly series. The Ghostly Ghastlys Book 7: New Year's Day

The little Ghastlys are up to mischief again. Their tricks do not amuse the Mayor, and they must do something good for the town or the whole family are to be thrown out of the Ghostly Ghastly House. The Ghastlys are a family of ghosts. There's Mr and Mrs Ghastly, and the three little Ghastlys, Bubble, Trouble and Puff. Mr and Mrs Ghastly are well known opera singers in the ghost world. The little Ghastlys don’t like opera – they think it's like cats howling, and cats do that better anyway. The Ghastlys used to live at the castle, but the children’s tricks angered the other ghosts there and the family was forced to leave. They went through the town looking for a new home, but every place was too small, too shiny, or too new - and the little Ghastlys' pranks upset the people living there. Then they found the old Town Museum and moved in. It was renamed the Ghostly Ghastly House, and opened to the public with the Ghastlys themselves as the main attraction. They live there with three polite skeletons, Branwing, a vegetarian vampire and Princess who becomes a dog when there's a full moon. The little Ghastlys are allowed to play tricks on people who visit, because they are expecting to be scared. But Mr and Mrs Ghastly have told the children not to play tricks on people who aren’t expecting them. This can get boring. People scream much louder when they don’t expect to be frightened. The louder people scream, the more the little Ghastlys like it. So on New Year's Day they go exploring - and that spells trouble for the townspeople! This is Book 7 in the series. It is a chapter book for readers 7-9 years. See the author's website www.barbaragodwin.com for news, further information, giveaways and to join The Ghostly Ghastly Readers' Club.
