If You search in the internet for these terms (Google, Wikipedia etc.), You'll read that there are some differences within this celebrations. In this ebook You can view a Stations of the Cross with 14 stations, as shown in Lauterhofen. The relief pictures made of cast iron are shown separated from the fluted columns of the single stations with the descriptions of the scenes in English, French and German and some additional informations.

These stations were erected in 1884 on the left handed side of the way and have released the older ones from 1628. In 2002 all columns were completely cleaned, fresh varnished and moved to the right handed side. These reliefs are elaborated by an unknown artist (foundry). At the middle there is a small church (also renovated in 2002) and at the end there is a crucifixion group with Mary and John. The way is about 350 m in length and to go easily.

Lauterhofen is a market community in the administrative district Neumarkt in the Oberpfalz. The Kalvarienberg up there is this Stations of the Cross.

This Stations of the Cross were first consecrated on May 22nd 1891 and last restored in 1996. The names of the donators for the last restaurations (shown on a little brass plate right down on the columns) are shown down the slabs texts at the single pictures below. The detailed history of this Way of the Cross is shown on a plate at the chapel on top of the hill, between the last stations. All 14 stations are in the same columns. The way, is about 120 m in length. Rieden is in the south of Amberg in the Oberpfalz a district of Bavaria in Germany (an easy map is included). It is between Ensdorf and Vilshofen (see Book 1 and 2 of this series).

In the early 1980s the pictures of the single stations columns were restored. The priest of Zant wanted a copy of the painted pictures within the Pilgrimage church but as driven light copper metal reliefs. This was elaborated by Hans-Georg Hierl, an artist in Ebermannsdorf. The priest from Ensdorf was so inspired about this, that he wanted the same for the coming restoration in Ensdorf. That's why both Stations of the Cross are completely identical, except the masoned columns. Previously the scenes were painted by different artists. Zant and Ensdorf are about 15 km to the south of Amberg in the Oberpfalz a district of Bavaria in Germany (An easy map is included). The distance between Zant and Ensdorf is 15 km too (approx. 9 miles) and there is a direct slow speed road (partially not asphalted, but free for cars - busses too).

Preussl from Mühlhausen - the neighbouring municipality) in the year 1900. The way is about 600 m in length. The first two stations are on the left side of the way (see cover picture), all others on the right one. Between Neumarkt and Amberg in the Oberpfalz (Bavaria, Germany) there is Markt Kastl. A part of this community is Utzenhofen. Nearby is Mühlhausen, where Seb. Preussl - one of the builder - was from (see above).

The stations were erected in 1847, the last renovation was in 1931, where the pictures were elaborated by Josef Amberg (1900 - 1976), a goldsmith in Würzburg.
